In December 1968 a meeting of Beagle enthusiasts took place in Carmarthen and is recognised as the founding of the Welsh Beagle Club. Kennel Club recognition came in 1969 and the Club held its inaugural Open show the same year. Best In Show was Raimex Wager owned by Mrs Diana Brown who still exhibits today and is indeed our Patron. The Club achieved Championship status in 1972. From the late 70’s Mrs Pat Norman (Norvane) was Hon Secretary before handing over to the current Secretary, Lyn Mitchell, in 1996. The Club holds two shows yearly, an Open show in the Spring and a Championship show in the Autumn.

We will be holding an Auction in the Lunch Break for a painting that has been donated to us with proceeds going to Beagle Welfare. Auctioneer Peter Roderick
We also have a class in memory of Ray Moses, a Vice President all proceeds going to the Welsh Air Ambulance
This year we will be celebrating
our 50th Anniversary
and have special prizes at our Shows plus cake!
Should you need accommodation for our Championship show there is a Days Inn at Magor Services, Premier Inn on the outskirts of Newport or The Two Rivers at Chepstow.
